JUST A MINUTE!
This activity fosters coordination and motor skills.
Materials:  space (indoor or outdoor), timer or clock
Challenge your child to see how many jumping jacks they can do in a minute.  Before they start, have them predict how many they will be able to do.  Can they do as many as they thought?  Then have your child try it with other kinds of movement too, like push-ups, sit-ups, or arm circles.  This is a great activity to return to day after day.  Can kids beat their own records?

Artist's Choice

This week, you get to pick the project. You can choose to create either a COLLAGE, DRAWING, PAINTING, SCULPTURE, or a PHOTOGRAPH. Whichever you choose, I want you to ask yourself the question: “Why is this piece important to me?” Keep this question in the from of your mind as you create. Maybe it's because you're making it for your mom, or it's a picture of your favorite pet, or you're recreating a memory of a favorite vacation spot. Maybe it's important because you are going to try your very best at a drawing, and you've been practicing your drawing skills for a while now and you want to be proud of your work. There are many reasons why art is important to artists, and each answer is unique. What will your answer be? Watch the video below.
